At present, the negative impact of COVID-19 continues. In order to timely strengthen academic communication, deepen interdisciplinary exchanges, and deepen cooperation and exchange on cutting-edge ecological and environmental issues in the new development pattern and the new era, we successfully held the "First online Forum of European Chinese Young Scholars on Ecology and Environment" on May 22. We invited 25 young researchers from 12 countries, including young teachers from University of Cambridge, Technische Universiteit Delft, Swiss Federal Institute of Aquatic Science and Technology, Max Planck Institute, scholars of Humboldt–Universitat zu Berlin, Marie Curie scholars, visiting scholars and post-doctoral students, to share their achievements and discuss cooperation.
The forum is divided into five themes:
(1) Climate change and carbon neutrality
(2) Water treatment and resource recycling
(3) Environmental health and toxicology
(4) Environmental microorganisms
(5) Environmental simulation and microecology
The forum was strongly supported by UCAS European Alumni Association, ESE Journal and the official account of Environmental People. Professor Liu Huijuan from the School of Environment of Tsinghua University was invited to deliver a speech. The meeting presented colorful reports and heated discussions.
